Over 3 years ago, Kent French’s auctioneering career took flight.  While hosting one of the many charity events he does on an annual basis, the auctioneer didn’t show up and Kent stepped in.   From that moment on, Kent has honed his auctioneering skills to become one of the premiere auctioneers in Southern California.  Kent combines his over 10 years of experience in broadcasting with a wit and charm that provides a very energetic, comfortable and entertaining selling environment for any charity event.  Kent is not your conventional auctioneer that just stands on stage and barks out bids behind a podium.  He finds his success in the crowd, interacting with guests in a tasteful manner in order to get the highest bid.

During his 3 plus years auctioneering, his travels have taken him throughout Southern and Northern California and to New York.  He has worked with over 15 charitable organizations and now averages 20 auctions per year.

Highlights include an auction held at the Google Plant in San Jose for the XPRIZE Foundation where Kent raised 1.5 million dollars.  This past year, Kent broke records for auction revenue at several events including the Child Abuse Prevention Center’s Island Dreams Gala and the Boys and Girls Club of Huntington Beach’s black tie Gala.

Kent does much more than just live auctioneering.  He assists with the silent auction, making timely announcements to keep the crowd engaged and the bidding high.  He will also help orchestrate the “ask” working with the MC or charity executive to draw the most money out of the room as possible.

Kent is a native of Southern California and a graduate of the University of Southern California Irvine.  He is currently a host, producer and broadcaster for the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center.
