Innovation has always been a cornerstone of Kent French’s career.  His first broadcasting job was at a local cable station where he started a sports department with a half-hour weekly sports show, high school football wrap-up show, and half-hour weekly shows for the Angels and Ducks.  He covered the 2002 World Series and the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals and broadcasted shows in front of a live studio audience at the ESPN Zone.  He was soon hired as Production Manager for the Ducks where he created Ducks TV, the NHL’s first webcast, and The Element, a 30 minute magazine style program that covered everything happening in and around Honda Center.  The Element has since won multiple awards for best ongoing corporate communications / entertainment program.  But it wasn’t until the Ducks Stanley Cup run in 2007 that Kent’s broadcasting career started to take off.

During this amazing run, Kent reported live from rinkside for KDOC TV, provided intermission interviews for AM830 radio both at home and on the road, and developed feature stories for Ducks TV and The Element.  After the Ducks won the championship, Kent traveled to Sweden, Finland, London, Toronto and the White House documenting the players travels with the Stanley Cup.

The next year, Kent moved into the Ducks Broadcasting department as host and producer, the roles he currently holds today.  Since the transition, Kent is now the rinkside reporter for all Ducks home telecasts, select road games and the postseason.  He can be seen on Fox Sports West, Prime Ticket and KDOC.  Kent also provides on-air reports for the Blackberry All-Access Pre-Game Show on NHL.com and for the NHL Network.  He recently covered the team as they opened up the 2011-2012 campaign in Finland and Sweden and was part of the Prime Ticket telecast and filed reports from both countries for the NHL Network.

When not covering the Ducks or a story at Honda Center, he is busy in the community and reporting for other media outlets.  He provided reports for the 2010 MLB All-Star Game at Angel Stadium and has covered several races for the SPEED Channel. Kent is co-host for the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade (the biggest Independence Day celebration in Southern California).    He also serves as Master of Ceremonies and live auctioneer for non-profit events throughout the United States and has helped generate over $2 million dollars over the last 7 years.  Kent sits on several boards and is the Board President of We Give Thanks, Inc., a non-profit organization that feeds over 15,000 people in the Honda Center parking lot on Thanksgiving Day.
