4-18-09 Kent Auctioneers the 12th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim Gala

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim held its 12th Annual Gala, "Remembering our Past…Celebrating our Future" recently at Disney's® Grand Californian Hotel. The event benefitted the Motel Kids Outreach Program, and more than 270 guests attended. More than $185,000 was raised. Master of Ceremonies Ed Arnold of KOCE-TV and Auctioneer Kent French of the Anaheim Ducks led the program. The live and silent auctions alone generated over $58,000. This year, the gala was chaired by two leaders: Ed Grier, president of Disneyland Resort and Bill Taormina, CEO and founder of Clean City.Recognized for their continued support of the Club throughout the 20 years of service, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim recognized community partners: Bruno Serato on behalf of Anaheim White House Restaurant, Mayor Curt Pringle on behalf of the City of Anaheim, Ed Grier on behalf of the Disneyland Resort, Bill Taormina on behalf of the Taormina Family, Bill Witte on behalf of the Related Companies, Andrew Edwards on behalf of Extron Electronics, Adrian Foley on behalf of Brookfield Homes, and Charles Ahlers on behalf of the Anaheim Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau.Also recognized was executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim, Michael Baker, for his 20 years of service to the organization.Since the program's inception in 2001, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim have served over 2,100 motel children through the Motel Kids Outreach Program.
